Your most valuable source for honest, up-to-date
real estate information!  August 2008

This month's focus area....

Columbia City

Columbia City, named after Christopher Columbus, is located in the Rainier Valley area of Seattle. In the last decade, it has seen some of the sharpest rises in property values in the entire Seattle metropolitan area! Train service at the neighborhood's light rail station is scheduled to begin in 2009, connecting the neighborhood to both SeaTac airport and Downtown Seattle.

Things to see in Columbia City

*Genesee Park*

Set in a quiet neighborhood, the atmosphere is quite soothing. It contains a huge and open grassy area for a playfield. Genesee also has a fully fenced 2 1/2 acres off-leash area with double gates, a doggie drinking fountain and a kiosk for community notices.

*Rainier Valley Cultural Center*

It offers an excellent performance space in a classic, two-story building. Located in Columbia City, the Center accommodates a broad spectrum of arts disciplines including theatre, dance, literary events and musical performances.

*Brighton Science Park*

Located at 6000 39th Ave S. The science park features a geography plaza, physics plaza, and solar system pathway. All constructed by contractors, artists, volunteers, and Parks Department staff.
