This month's focus area....
Maple Leaf
. This mostly residential neighborhood was annexed into the city of Seattle in the early 1950s. Since 2000, the Maple Leaf area has been undergoing considerable renovation. Smaller, older homes sitting on 1/8 acre lots are being bulldozed to make room for new high-end 'craftsman' homes and townhomes.
Things to see in Maple Leaf
*Northgate Mall*
The first covered Mall in the US! If you haven't visited Northgate Mall in a while you will be in awe of transformation! Barnes & Noble, numerous new restaurants and soon a movie theater have joined the massive complex.
|
 |
*Water Tower*
The water tower is painted with a distinctive coupling of maple leaves viewable from I-5. Quiet the sight!

**Waldo's Woods
Waldo's Woods is located on 1.6 acres next to the Maple Leaf Reservoir. A wooded area enjoyed by the community over the years, it still continues to please the neighborhood with it's beauty. Visit today because a developer has submitted plans to cut down the trees to make room for upscale townhomes.

The Maple Leaf Grill has been a neighborhood favorite since it opened its doors in the charming Maple Leaf area of Seattle in 1989. In 1999, the Grill relocated up the street to the light gray house that sits on the corner of 90th and Roosevelt Way NE. The house was built in the 1920's and is on the highest point in north Seattle, with views of Mount Rainier and the Olympic mountains. Delicious food made from organic and natural products. Enjoy a full bar as well!
